DADOS RCU

Introduction

For calibration of the DADOS spectra we use the Alpy calibration module from Shelyak, which is equipped with an argon-neon lamp for wavelength calibration and a tungsten lamp for flat-field calibration.

To remotely control this calibration unit, a simple remote control upgrade module (RCU) has been created. It allows the user to remotely control both a flat-field lamp and a wavelength calibration lamp via serial communication through a COM port on a computer. The heart …

Spectrographical observations are taken out with the DADOS or the BACHES spectrograph, both manufactured by Baader Planetarium.

The DADOS spectrograph

For the DADOS spectrograph we have a 200 lines/mm and 900nm/mm grating. Currently the 900 lines/mm grating is mounted and used for most of the observations. The basic data are partly taken from the Baader website.$\frac{\lambda}{\Delta\lambda}$$R = \frac{\lambda}{\Delta \lambda} = 14,000-20,000$$\lambda$
