  • The Hamburger Galaxy is an unbarred spiral galaxy located approximately 35 million light-years away in the constellation Leo. It was first observed by William Herschel in 1784. Its most striking feature is the broad band of dust located along the outer edge of its spiral arms, which effectively cuts across the galaxy as seen from Earth.

Additional information

In each filter, 15–16 images, each two minutes long, were taken and stacked. The total exposure time was about 2.5 hours.
